Vadodara, April 30: The launch of the Vadodara Division of the Western Railways Information Voice Recording System IVRS might be delayed due to teething problems.

The division had earlier announced that Information Voice Recording System would be launched at the Vadodara railway station from Friday. The system once implemented would give the status of a ticket besides the train timings. However, due to technical problems in providing all facilities at one go, only part facility will be provided in about three-four days, Divisional Railway Manager K C Jena said, elaborating the passenger will be required to dial a number and a recorded voice would tell the status of the train.

8220;The system8217;s equipment is already there and is being tested at present and would be launched within the next few days,8221; Jena said.

Jena added that the system once implemented would benefit passengers greatly as unlike the present recorded system 8212; where the passenger has to listen to the whole recorded message to know his train position 8212; the Information Voice Recording System would answer his query straightaway and thus improve the quality of service a passenger received from the Railways.
