Diya Mirza talks about acting and Arshad Warsi
Actor Diya Mirza hasn8217;t been in the klieg lights for a long time now, but she says it is only the proverbial calm before a storm. With five films due next year, Mirza is ready to return with a bang. 8220;After my films Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Shootout at Lokhandwala, I decided to step back and find out what exactly I wanted,8221; philosophised Mirza, who was in Delhi to walk the ramp for designer friend Rocky S at the Chivas Fashion Tour at the Intercontinental Eros.
Donning a red flowing gown, an ensemble that Rocky decided to gift her after the show, Mirza said her list of releases was a mixed bag 8212; from romantic comedies such as Shoebite with Amitabh Bachchan and Kaun Bola with Arshad Warsi to a cause-driven commercial film like Kisaan.
8220;My past films may not have worked too well but the reason for failure is never singular. My forthcoming films have the kind of scripts that I8217;ve always wanted to do,8221; she said. She even underwent rigorous physical training for her glam gangster role in Sanjay Gupta8217;s Acid Factory. 8220;I underwent the resistance training programme, something that athletes undergo to build strength. And I8217;m glad I did it, since I haven8217;t lost weight but have become stronger.8221;
While her professional life was getting a shake-up, rumours buzzed that Mirza was responsible for the break up of Arshad Warsi8217;s home. 8220;It8217;s unfortunate that such speculation surfaces in the industry,8221; she said. 8220;All that I8217;d like to say is that I come from a broken family, and I would be the last person to break someone8217;s home.8221;
What about her crowded films, with most of them except Shoe Bite being multi-starrers? Is she playing it safe? 8220;There8217;s no such thing as a multi-starrer. I like to work with people I can strike a chord with, which is most important to me,8221; said Mirza.
Maybe that should bring her some luck.
