
CHANDIGARH, Sept 30: quot;Under ISO protocols all standards are required to be reviewed at least every five years. 8220;This ensures their better acceptability to varied user needs and ever changing requirements of the customers,quot; said Rajan Anand, Counsellor CII TQM division, Delhi, at a one-day workshop organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry Northern Region today.
Counsellor Confederation of Indian Industry TQM division Anand stressed that the 1994 version of ISO 9000 series of standards brought clarity and uniformity, the year 2000 version will bring wider acceptability in different sectors, a process-oriented management, improved organisational performance, continuous improvement and enhanced customer satisfaction and improved business results.
The workshop, attended by management representatives and quality assurance engineers from the companies already ISO certified, aimed at giving first-hand information about the new structure of ISO 9000 series of standards. It also apprised them about the transition process from 1994 requirements to those of 2000.
