Former Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel’s daughter Anar appointed president of influential Khodaldham organisation

Anar Patel, the daughter of former Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel, has been appointed as the president of the Khodaldham, an influential socio-religious organisation of the Leuva Patidar community. Anandiben is currently the Governor of Uttar Pradesh.

Naresh Patel, chairman of the Khodaldham Trust, announced Anar’s appointment at a meeting convened by the organisation in Rajkot on Wednesday.

A social entrepreneur who has founded organisations like Gramshree and Craftroots that provide support to women and artisans, Anar Patel is a trustee of the Khodaldham Trust and also leads its women’s wing.

An official of the Khodaldham Trust said Anar has been appointed to a new post created in the organisation. “So far, the organisation had no president. We have a total of 11 zones in the state and the convener of each zone will now report to Anar Patel. Basically, she will handle the organisation’s affairs across the state. Nareshbhai will continue to head the Khodaldham Trust as chairman,” the official added.
