MUMBAI, JUNE 22: Global satellite phone service provider, Iridium has announced reduced and simplified service and equipment pricing. The new strategy focuses on delivering tailored communications solutions to customers in the industrial marketplace that have the greatest immediate need for satellite communications services.

8220;We will allow our service providers to offer price reductions of upto 65 per cent of the original price. We have also simplified pricing so that each customer will enjoy a flat per minute rate for international calls,8221; said John Richardson, CEO of Iridium.

The two equipment providers 8211; Motorola and Kyocera 8211; have also annocunced reductions in the wholesale prices of their satellite product for the Iridium system. Effective from July 1, Iridium customers will be able to purchase Iridium equipment at an extremely competitive and affordable prices, a company statement said. Iridium is also rolling out a more customer-driven approach to the marketplace by creating service packagestailored to specific market segments.
