I was not consulted: Prasanna
BANGALORE:
EAS Prasanna, one of the best cricket off-spinners ever, stated that he had no inkling of the ban on Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar.

Prasanna, who is in the International Cricket Council’s Illegal Bowling Action Committee, stated he was inducted into the committee only on January 1, 2000. “The ban on Shoaib was taken in December. I replaced Kapil Dev in the committee only on January 1. By then, the ban on Shoaib Akhtar had already been pronounced.

“My mind is open about these things. I need to see video tapes and slow-motion replays of the bowler over a sustained period of time before arriving at any conclusion,” he said.
