Bengal pacer Jhulan Goswami led the Indian women’s dominance as the visitors skittled out England for a modest 223 on the opening day of the first cricket Test.

Goswami picked three for 46 as she broke the back of the England batting and gave the Indians a terrific start in the four-day match. Preetim Dimri from Agra then chipped in with two for 43 while veteran Hemlata Kala also picked two for 16.

The England innings revolved around a sedate 73 from Caroline Atkins

In reply, India were five for no loss after six overs with Monica Sumra (one) and Karuna Jain (four) at the crease.
