KOZHIKODE: P Harikrishna broke from the pack and led the field with four points from four games in the Susheela Thipsay Memorial Fide-rated tournament organised by Tal Chess Academy here. Harikrishna got the better of M B Muralidharan of Kerala in 56 moves of French Defence.

CALCUTTA: The All-India Football Federation AIFF released the list of 50 reserve national football players for the year 1999-2000 who may figure in the national team for various championships.

The 45-match restriction during the year would be applicable on these players, according to a press release issued by AIFF.

CALCUTTA: The second semi-final of the fifth McDowell Cup between East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting was abandoned following heavy rains.The match, which started under a nagging drizzle, had to be temporarily held up 33 minutes into the first half with East Bengal leading 1-0 as the downpour became heavy rendering the ground condition unplayable.
