
Saqlain banned for one match
MUMBAI: Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq was slapped a one-match suspension after being found guilty on two counts including showing dissent at the umpire8217;s decision in the opening One-Day International tie of the Triangular Series against Sri Lanka at Jamshedpur on Friday.
Match referee Cammie Smith said Saqlain is guilty of breach of code of conduct. He instead of going to the crease after his Wasim Akram was run out approached the leg-umpire stating that Akram was not out and that he leg-umpire should have referred the decision to the third umpire. Saqlain has been suspended for the next match against hosts India at Jaipur on March 24.
Bridge Nationals
JAIPUR: Teams from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are likely to take part in the 30th Summer National Bridge Championship to be held at Mount Abu from April 9 to 17. As much as 35 parties in team of four duplicate for Guru Dutt Trophy and 72 pairs in Masters pairs for Agarwal Trophy were expected to takepart in the championship.
