Increasing rowdyism forces DSW to quit

Dahiya8217;s resignation is the fall-out of the 8220;condom throwing8221;incident followed by clashes between two groups of students. Taking a serious view of the incident, the varsity had also suspended ten students and their subsequent rustication from the hostels.

It was on the eve of the foundation day of the CCSHAU on February 1, when a few students had thrown condoms on girls, who were watching a cultural evening organised in the Indira Gandhi auditorium. The incident later resulted into group clashes.

HAUTA, at its meeting held here last week, had condemned the varsity authorities for the worsening law and order situation on the campus and demanded resignation of DSW, who had been given extension because of his execellent performance as DSW, the sources added.

Students8217; Union had taken exception to HAUTA8217;s demand for resignation of DSW.

VC Chaudhary, when contacted, confirmed the receipt of resignation, said that the same will be accepted only after finding a suitable alternative. He added that a decision on the issue will be taken soon.
