
Tendulkar a father again
MUMBAI: Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar was blessed with a son today morning when his wife Anjali delivered their second child at the Breach Candy hospital in South Mumbai.
8220;The baby boy was born at 1030 hours IST after a Caesarean operation. Both mother and child are doing well,8221; hospital sources said. The Tendulkars have a daughter named Sarah. The ace batsman was present at the hospital at the time of his son8217;s birth, the hospital sources said.
Agassi, Graf in love
LAS VEGAS: Score it love-love for Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf. Agassi confirmed yesterday that he is romantically involved with Graf. He said the relationship 8220;has probably come on a little quicker than anticipated.8221;

BRISBANE: Rookie Wayne Arthurs stunned World No 2 Yevgeny Kafelnikov to give Australia a surprise 2-0 lead over Russia in the Davis Cup semi-final today. Arthurs, ranked 91, unsettled Kafelnikov with his penetrative left-handed serves to win 6-2 6-7 4-7 6-2 6-0 after Lleyton Hewitt defeated Marat Safin 7-6 7-0 6-2 4-6 6-3. In Pau, France was leading Belgium 1-0 in the other semi-final.
Athletes killed
HARARE: Four of Zimbabwe8217;s top road runners and a leading athletics coach were killed in a car accident on the way to an international event in Swaziland.
Those killed were Stanford Chiyangwa, Cosmas Numwitike, Honest Dandara and Fungai Kapanyota and coach Ray Haworth. Two other athletes, Debbie Lambourne 8212; the current National women8217;s marathon champion 8212; and Charles Magurira, were admitted to hospital.

GALLE: Australian medium-pacer Damien Fleming has been let-off without any disciplinary action for deliberately elbowing Sri Lanka8217;s Chaminda Vaas on the second day of the second cricket Test in Galle yesterday. Sri Lankan officials said both teams decided not to make an issue of it.
