FEBRUARY 5: Maharashtra chief secretary P Subramanayam has stressed the need to develop social infrastructure in the country to root out multiple problems like poverty, population, illiteracy and child destitution.The chief secretary was inaugurating an exhibition-cum-seminar on social infrastructure organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry. (CII).Pointing out that the country lacks social infrastructure even as the world is on a threshold of jumping into the next millennium, he said government, non-government organisations and corporates should join hands in developing adequate social infrastructure in the country.
