You have been the quietest of the KANK lot. What8217;s the feedback like?
I8217;ve got positive feedback. KANK is a film about grey characters and we expected it to create ripples. Now that we have made a different film, people are saying that it8217;s too different.
The general perception is that there was too little of you in the film. Comment.
Such things don8217;t bother me. It8217;s always the quality of the film that matters .
If you could choose between Rani Mukerji8217;s role in KANK and yours, which one would you have preferred?
I would have always gone for my role. I think my character, Rhea, is very different. This role provided me with an opportunity to show the other side of a wronged wife. It looks nice on my portfolio.
What8217;s with the dark eye makeup in the film?
The dark kohl and liner was part of Rhea8217;s look. The women in New York, especially in the fashion world, are more dressed up. It was entirely Karan Johar8217;s call. I enjoyed it because in Koi Mil Gaya and Kal Ho Naa Ho, I played the girl next door.
What about your next release Jaan-E-Mann?
It8217;s a romantic film that can be seen by anyone between the age of four and 104 years. There8217;s no point in saying that I8217;m great in it because at the end of the day, I8217;m the same actor. In Jaan-E-Mann, I8217;ve gone for a youthful look.
How do you select your scripts?
I8217;ve just been lucky. I want to do different things. And I don8217;t need to do an art film to experience a truly different role. I8217;m eager for diverse and realistic roles within the commercial framework.
Any recent film you wished you had done?
Thinks Not really. I8217;m very happy with what I get.
Finally, you8217;re doing a full-fledged role with Abhishek Bachchan in Jhoom Bara Bar Jhoom. What8217;s the vibe like?
I absolutely adore Abhishek. He8217;s full of energy and madness and it8217;s fun being with him. We8217;re both Aquarians, so you have to hear our banter.
