PANCHKULA, April 4: The city police today arrested Haryana Urban Development Authority SDO S.K. Bainiwal, accused of assaulting Sandeep Sethi, a resident of Sector 12.

It may be recalled that last Monday, two junior engineers of HUDA had been arrested for the assault while the SDO and another JE accused in the case were at large.

Today at around 9:30 a.m., the police party accompanied by Sandeep Sethi reached Bainiwal8217;s residence in Sector 17 here. Bainiwal who was at that time standing in front of his house rushed inside his house on seeing the police, but was arrested. He was sent to the Sector 2 Police Station where the complaint was lodged. Later, he was released on bail when he presented his arrest stay order till April 6.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a search operation for Junior Engineer Harjit, also involved in the incident. Those who had been arrested the same day were Junior Engineers Ajmer Singh and Raj Kapoor Rathi.
