Homoeopathy has a bright future: Batra

VADODARA, Jan 10: Whatever may be the status of homoeopathy 8212; the world8217;s most-used system of medicines 8212; today, the future is bright, according to acclaimed homoeopath and recipient of various awards including one for Medical Excellence, Outstanding Citizen of India and Rajiv Gandhi Gold Medical for Medicine, Mukesh Batra. In an informal talk with Express Newsline here on Sunday, Batra, claimed that homoeopathy was gaining popularity all over and even people from Hollywood and European Royal families were adopting it because of its holistic approach while treating patients.

While UK had included homoeopathy in its national health services, the US too had given it an official status, he said. 8220;It is encouraging, given the fact that homoeopathy was not even known in USA till recently and is now being practiced by even allopaths,8221; he added.

But it may take a little more time for homoeopathy8217;s status to improve in India as a lot remains to be done by the authorities, said Batra. 8220;There are only a couple of institutes in the country which offer masters degree in the stream, while the Union fund to promote homoeopathy is still about Rs 3 crore only8221;, said Batra.
