
CHANDIGARH, Nov 1: The authorities should find out reasons for high prices of essential commodities and bring the guilty to the book, former IAS officer G. V. Gupta said at a 8220;protest meeting8221; organised by the Jan Shakti under the auspices of the Servants of the People Society here today.
B. B. Tandon, who retired from PU8217;s Business School, criticised the BJP government for allegedly protecting the traders. He attributed the high prices to the traders8217; conception that after the Fifth Pay Commission, the salaried class was in a position to pay more. Among others who spoke on the occasion included INTUC local unit president Ram Paul, Servants of the People Society8217;s secretary Onkar Chand and Jan Shakti convenor P P Arya.
