Harish struggles

NEW DELHI, April 20: The inaugural day’s proceedings in the Chandravati Bhatnagar Memorial Manav Sthali School Open Table Tennis Tournament at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium here on Monday was devoted to the junior sections tinytots, kids, cadet and sub-juniors.

In sub-junior boys singles, Harish Goel struggled to overcome some stiff resistance by Aditya Chopra before winning 15-21, 21-10, 21-14. In other matches in the same section, Abhinav Jalan beat Manit Pahey 21-17, 21-15 and Chander Shekhar defeated Rahul Soni. In cadet boys first round, Manish outclassed Rohini Malik 21-9, 21-4 and Sahil Budhiraja lost to Ramneek Khurana 15-21, 13-21. Lakshyt, however, prevailed upon Chetan Arora by a 21-12, 21-15 verdict.
