Gujarat SRP commandant suspended

Gandhinagar, June 10: The Gujarat Government has suspended a senior police officer and commandant of the State Reserve Police SRP force at Gondal for alleged misappropriation and misuse of government machinery.

Minister of State for Home Haren Pandya told reporters today the order to suspend the officer was issued by the state government yesterday following investigation by anti-corruption on a complaint made by policemen.

Pandya said the officer had used government machinery and vehicles for transporting gas cylinders from Nadiad to a company run by his father in Bhuravav in Mudnra taluka in 1994-1995.
