NEW DELHI, SEPT 2: In a bid to end groupism in the Gujarat unit of the Congress, the party high command has accommodated virtually all the factions in the list of office-bearers and the executive.

In the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) list announced today, the party named 11 vice-presidents and 14 general secretaries and secretaries each. In addition, 46 executive members have also been named besides nine permanent invitees including senior leaders Madhavsinh Solanki, Ahmed Patel, Prabodh Raval, Chhabildas Mehta, Urmilaben Patel and Kumudben Joshi. Many of these names have also been included in the 16-member Election Committee.

An eight-member team of special invitees including former Union minister Yogendra Makwana has also been nominated.

Former minister C D Patel continues to be the president of the reconstituted PCC. Though Patel was appointed long back, he had not been given a full-fledged executive committee.

The reconstituted PCC has a number of special and permanent invitees.

Along withthe PCC, the AICC also announced a number of State committees including a 16-member high level Election Committee headed by C D Patel.

Former minister Manohar Singh Jadeja and former PCC general secretary Sagar Raika figure in the list of vice-presidents, while former deputy chief minister Narhari Amin has been named as one of the 14 general secretaries.

The eight spokesmen appointed by the AICC would have the status of State vice-president.

The 30-member executive committee include C D Patel, CLP leader Amar Singh Chaudhary, former Union minister B K Gadhvi and former Indian Youth Congress president Satyajit D Gaekwad.

Prominent among the special invitees are Dinsha Patel, Shantibhai Patel, Ishwarbhai Chavda, Chhitubhai Gamit and former Union minister of State Yogendra Makwana.

C D Patel, CLP leader Amar Singh Chaudhary, former Union ministers Madhav Singh Solanki and Urmila Ben Patel figure in the list of Pradesh Election Committee.

Besides, the AICC also announced disciplinary and ethicscommittees comprising eight members each and 11-member training committee.
