AS 32 constituencies go to polls tomorrow in Uttar Pradesh, the district administration of Gorakhpur has requested mobile phone operators like BSNL, Reliance and Hutch to jam their mobile services in the constituency for the day. The reason? 8216;8216;We want to ensure peaceful polling here,8217;8217; said Gorakhpur DM Dimple Verma.

BSNL, Reliance and Hutch have all agreed to jam their services tomorrow. 8216;8216;Yes, BSNL mobile services in Gorakhpur will remain jammed from 6 in the morning till 6 pm,8217;8217; said a company official. Reliance city head, Arvind Kumar said, 8216;8216;We have been given instructions and we will follow the order.8217;8217;

Some of the highly sensitive constituencies are Rae Bareli, from where Congress president Sonia Gandhi is contesting; Balrampur where the contest is between two history-sheeters and Machhlishahar where Assembly Speaker Kesri Nath Tripathi is contesting.
