Further remand for two

CHANDIGARH, Aug 17: Harvinder Singh and Manoj Pal, accused of killing an S.A.S. Nagar resident in the Sector 10 market, were further remanded to judicial custody till August 29 by UT Judicial Magistrate (Ist Class) Tejwinder Singh, here today.

The duo were earlier booked under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code after Manjit Singh died in the crossfire outside Hotel Mountview.

While Manoj Pal was arrested by the Chandigarh Police on June 8, Harvinder Singh surrendered before the court on June 27.

According to the prosecution, an altercation between the two groups at a club, a few months ago had resulted in the firing. The victim was in a Maruti car, while the "assailants" were driving a Zen.
