VADODARA, Feb 15: In a bid to develop the D N Hall East campus of the M S University, the staff and the students of the Faculty of Journalism and Communications, the Department of Foreign Languages, the Department of History and the Computer Centre have organised a theatrical performance, Encounters, on Tuesday.

Manisha Shelat of the Faculty of Journalism said, the programme was aimed at developing the eastern campus and also because this was the university8217;s golden jubilee year.

Debal Dasgupta of the department of Russian said this was one of the oldest part of the campus and the cultural programme was to mobilise public opinion and generate funds for developing it.

He said Encounters would include cultural programmes, solo musical performances and also a street play by the students of the Faculty of Journalism and Anton Chekov8217;s play on, The Bear, also to be performed by the students.

He added that the staff of these departments would also contribute towards raising public opinion by meeting people and spreading awareness. Dasgupta said that while university Vice-Chancellor Anil Kane would be the chief guest at the function, those interested in knowing more about the fund-raising programme should contact the department of Russian on 786336.
