Foxes kill three deer in Banglore

When ENS visited the spot it was a heart rending scene to watch the injured deer bleeding, mutely staring back. Some of them have their ears bitten off while others have deep wounds on their limbs and faces.

Speaking to The Indian Express, the gardeners said there was no power during the night and while heavy rains lashed the city, the foxes came from the direction of Kempegowda tower, sneaked through the barbed wire enclosure and attacked the deer.

According to a watchman, nobody dared to go out on Sunday night due to heavy rains and lack of power.

8220;There are no search lights nor proper lighting in the area. Moreover, these days there is a terrible menace of snakes in the garden,8221; he added.

8220;We are not even given gum-boots forpatrolling during night. How do you expect one to keep watch without all these ?8221; he asked.

Some of the frequent visitors to the garden said such incidents of foxes attacking the deer have happened earlier too. They blamed the authorities for not taking adequate steps to counter such attacks or protect the animals.

The carcasses of deer lay at the enclosures till afternoon. The employees at the garden said the injured deer were treated by veterinary doctors.
