AMRITSAR, MARCH 20: Justice Kuldip Singh, retired Supreme Court judge and a committed environmentalist said yesterday that politicians were protecting the forest mafia instead of forest wealth. He said as a result of which 50 per cent fauna and flora of the country has became extinct.

While inaugurating a national symposium here in Guru Nanak Dev University, Kuldip Singh said that unfortunately 102 nominees of various political parties have criminal record.
