Delhiites come out to mourn for Mumbai

As winter chill swept through a Delhi evening, they came out, holding a flickering candle, to mourn 26/11, their friends who were killed in another city, but often it was for Everyvictim. Sumita Kumar, a resident of Lajpat Nagar, was at the Jantar Mantar for her friend Neeti Kang, the wife of Taj Hotels general manager Karambir, who was holed up in the hotel. 8220;It is the shock of her death that has brought me here,8221; said Kumar.

Around 100 RWAs were represented at the candlelight vigil on Friday. Simi Sawhney, another friend of Neeti8217;s, too, was there, having come to know about the demise of her old schoolmate on Facebook, 8220;We were at the Maharani Gayatri Devi School in Jaipur,8221; she said. Rashee Mehra, a 21-year-old, was outraged. 8220;Tomorrow I will be voting for the first time and I can8217;t decide who to vote for,8221; she said. She will nevertheless upload the vigil photos on Facebook for her friends in Mumbai. 8220;It is my way of showing that we care,8221; her voice quavered, and it had nothing to do with a chilly November.
