Big 92.7 FM goes to campuses with 8216;Sony Ericsson BIG Loud and Famous Fresher Hunt8217; contest. Conceptualized as a means to capture the excitement in colleges with the entry of new batch of students, the 8216;Fresher8217; contest aims to provide a platform to the freshers to showcase their talent. While the first one in IBS, Mohali, was held on September 8, the contest will now go to DAV College, ITFT, Indo Global campus, Chitkara and a few government colleges of the city. The contest will be simultaneously organised in ten cities 8212; Chandigarh, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Trivandrum, Surat, Udaipur, Agra, Vizag and Amritsar. Students from 15 colleges from each city will participate in the contest. BIG Jock will visit colleges and screen participants through various interesting rounds like talent, IQ, Sony Ericsson Loud, louder and loudest, Streax Funky Hairdo contest, BIG talent and Chal cut ley. RJs will also visit the college campuses and conduct the screening on the same along with live links. While the college finalists will get a funky hairdo from Streax, each winner couple per city gets a Sony Ericsson R300 phone.

Virasat theatre group will present its new play 8220;52min60sec8221; on 13 and 14 September in Punjab Kala Bhawan 7pm onwards.

Written and directed by Asif Ali, who has been awarded Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puruskar by Sangeet Natak Akademi in the field of playwriting, the play is a story of the last one hour of the lives of six young naxalites in hiding to complete an operation. Their mission is successful and they want to celebrate it. However, the next moment they are surrounded by the army. Confusion sets in the hide out. Army commander gives them a time of 59 minutes 60 seconds to surrender and from here the play progresses in its real time.

Enacted by professional actors the play8217;s thrust is on life not on death.
