BANGALORE, Nov 24: A five-member panel of seers to resolve the crisis at the Moorsavira math in Hubli will be set up on Tuesday. According to sources close to Chief Minister J H Patel, the math’s senior seer Rajayogendra and junior seer Rudramuni have suggested names of two swamis each to be nominated to the panel. The Chief Minister is expected to nominate one member of the panel.

It may be recalled that the math had plunged into a crisis after a section of the devotees installed junior seer Rudramani as successor of the math in the absence of senior seer Rajayogendra.

Senior seer who had annulled his decision to make Rudramuni his successor had resorted to an indefinite strike in protest against Rudramuni assuming charge. Interestingly, even Rudramuni had also resorted to an indefinite strike.

Following the development, Patel deployed a ministerial team to visit the math. After persuading both of them to end their indefinite strike, it was agreed to set up a panel to resolve the crisis.

According tosources, Rudramuni had suggested the names of Shivapingaswamy of Savalge math in Gokak taluka and Mahanthaswamy of Ilkal math in Hungund taluk in Bijapur. Though Rajayogendraswami has also suggested the names of two seers, the name of only one seer — Mundargi Annadanaswami — was available.
