Five killed in accident

MANDI, Dec 9: Five persons lost their lives and three were seriously injured when a Maruti van in which they were travelling met with an accident near village Padhar about 30 kms from here on Mandi Joginder Nagan-Pathankota National Highway today According to Deputy Commissioner Parbodha Saxenaz all the seriously injured were admitted to Zonal Hospital where the condition of two injured was stated to be serious.

The killed were identified as Pawan Kumar son of Madho Ram who was also driver of the ill fated van. Dila Ram son of Chhange Ram, Tara Chand son of Kesar, Dalip son of Gandhi and Dil Bahadur, a Nepali labourer.

The seriously injured included Som Nath son of Kesar, Bhup Singh son of Dharam Chand and Dharam Chand son of Uttam. The Deputy Commissioner Prabodh Saxena has sanctioned Rs.10,000 each for the deceased and Rs.5,000 for the seriously injured .CM has expressed his sympathies with the bereaved.
