In the last twenty years each time Pakistan has had an extra ordinary player, Imran Khan has had a finger in the pie. Former Pakistan skipper Waqar Younis, who himself was a Imran find, narrates the story of how Pakistan discovered Inzamam.

8216;8216;Inzamam did not have any big performance before he came into the national team. Mushtaq Ahmed and I had played first class cricket with him in Multan in the Under-19s. So we pursued Imran to take a look at him,8217;8217; Waqar recollects.

Inzamam scored a hundred in Multan in that series and since then he has top-scored in a completed Test innings on more occasions for Pakistan than any other batsman.

Waqar also recalls the time during the 2003 World Cup when he managed just 19 runs in six matches. The problem, according to Waqar, was his weight loss. 8216;8216;With loss of weight there is loss of energy levels as well. Inzamam should not bother about his weight. Like was the case with Arjuna Ranatunga and Ashok Malhotra, weight should never bother him,8217;8217; he says.
