• Senator John F. Kerry in Iowa: “We’re seeing this White House dodging and bobbing and weaving… just as they’ve done in our involvement in Iraq… Cheney is becoming Chief Minister of Disinformation”

• Vice President Dick Cheney in Florida: ‘‘It is not at all clear that those explosives were even at the weapons facility when our troops arrived in the area of Baghdad (where the munitions had been stored). Senator Kerry is playing armchair general and not doing a very good job of it.”

• Former President Bill Clinton told a Jewish audience in Florida, Kerry could best repair relations with the US’ alienated allies: “It’s a lot easier to kick down a barn than to build it. Kerry’s a barn-builder you’ll be proud of.”

• President George Bush said in Pennsylvania: “A political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as Commander in Chief.”
