Till You DropThe Indian abroad is not that ugly any more. Indians travelling abroad are going to spend more than ever before. They are competing with their more affluent counterparts from the developed world as far as shopping sprees go.
In a study done by American Express, 77 per cent Indians said that shopping was on their list of objectives on travel. About 22 per cent of those surveyed said that they would spend between over 2,000 the highest spending category on their foreign jaunts. Compared to this, only 6 per cent of the US travellers said that they would spend over 2,000.
Three per cent of the Indians as well as Mexicans said they plan to spend more this years, while 71 per cent of travellers from UK said they will not spend more. About a quarter of Australians said that they intend spending less.
If nothing else, Indian8217;s shopping habits will make them welcome in foreign stores.
