A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by its Chandigarh unit president Jatinder Pal Malhotra, on Monday met UT Chief Secretary H Prasad and submitted a memorandum alleging misuse of government machinery, police high-handedness ,and political vendetta by AAP leader Sunny Ahluwalia.

The delegation included party’s state general secretaries Rambir Bhatti and Sanjeev Rana, Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla, councillors Suman Sharma, Saurabh Joshi, Naresh Panchal, Mahesh Inder Sidhu, and party leader Avi Bhasin.

Malhotra alleged that Sunny Ahluwalia had misused his position and influence to get a “false and politically motivated” FIR registered against Komal Sharma, sister-in-law of BJP councillor from Ward No. 4 Suman Sharma. He claimed the move was aimed at intimidating and harassing the councillor’s family to exert political pressure.

He told the Chief Secretary that the FIR was registered without any legal basis and termed the action by Punjab Police, allegedly taken without proper coordination with Chandigarh Police, as a violation of established legal procedures.

“The timing, manner and intent of this incident clearly indicate political vendetta,” Malhotra alleged.

The BJP president further claimed that party councillors have been receiving continuous threats for the past several days.
