Hot Shot
Nilanjana Sharma, who anchors Bakemans Mama mia (the pop countdown on Zee) seems to be the hottest property in town. Apart from this she also appears in Hip Hip Hurrary (Zee) and Lekin Woh Sach Tha (DD1). If you remember, we’d written about her having an affair with Vaquar Shaikh who co-stars with her in Lakin Woh… Well, she’s been getting a lot of offers from Raman Kumar, Manjul Sinha, Ravi Rai and though excited, she is being extremely choosy. But now she is on cloud nine after she got a film offer from Rajeev Menon the guy who made the Kajol, Arvind Swamy starrer Sapnay. She doesn’t want to talk much about it and has her fingers crossed. So do we.
Bad Lesson?
Talking of replacements and shifting of programmes, Ravi Rai must be pretty upset these days. His programme Teacher on Zee which was initially pitted against his other serial Thoda Hai… on Sony was later shifted to 9 pm and then to the 8.30 slot. Now we hear it’s been pushed to the 10.30pm slot on Tuesday nights. This is not very healthy for a programme because the TRPs tend to drop and it loses its viewership, unless it’s being shifted from non prime time to a prime time. Anyways, we hear Rai is planning to wind it up at 104.
After the Flood
It’s a fact that all good things do come to an end. Finally, Ajai Sinha’s Hasratein which ruled the TRP charts although it’s run of four years comes to an end this week with its 208th episode. While we’ve been hearing that his new serial Kal Aaj Aur Kal would replace Hasratein, there seems to be some delay. Now Raman Kumar/Vinta Nanda’s new soap Raahein comes in place of it. It stars Shefali Chhaya (again!) playing the protagonist – Preeti – a woman caught between her career and love life, Along with Smita Jaykar, Akshay Anand, Akash Khanna, Grusha Kapoor, Lilette Dubey.
Trading Places
Dinesh Bansal must be a happy man now. His sitcom Ghar Jamai with Satish Shah and R Madhavan in the lead, directed by Ananth Mahadevan which started off almost 10 months back on the Wednesday 8.30 pm slot is being shifted. It has been changed to Monday 8 pm that means it replaces Gajendra Singh’s show Sa Re Ga Ma. And no, never fear, Sa Re… doesn’t go off the air, but shifts to Sundays 8 pm. In place of Ghar Jamai on Wednesdays is Anuradha Prasad’s sitcom Do Aur Do Paanch, with Jatin Kanakria, Reema Lagoo, Dilip Joshi, Tanaaz Currim, directed by Rajan Waghdhare.
No Problems
The sacking of top officials at Zee TV has been the talk of the town over the week. And everyone was wondering which producer would be in trouble or which programme would face the axe. But till now all is well except for Kalpana Lajmi’s serial Aakrosh which was to premiere last Saturday. It never saw the light of the day. But if sources are to be believed, it’s not run into trouble, it’s just been postponed.
