NEW DELHI, January 22: The Delhi Vidyut Board DVB today claimed to have successfully met the peak electricity demand of 2,355 mega watts, much higher than the peak demand in the height of summers which generally hovers around 2,100 mega watts.
Unfortunately, the Board will be unable to realise most of the power used by the residents of the Capital, as most of it, by their own admission, is being stolen. The DVB has therefore issued a quot;stern warningquot; to the power thieves and has threatened that apart from taking penal action against them, the power supply will also be cut off.
