
In keeping with the Team India thinktank8217;s efforts to come up with 8220;innovative8221; training methods, the side for the Sri Lanka tri-series starting August 12 will begin its conditioning camp near here tomorrow at an institute best known for sharpening the cohesion of corporate teams.
The three-day initial conditioning camp, kept under wraps, will be conducted at the Pegasus Centre for Excellence, 56 km north of Bangalore.
The 15-member Indian team and five other players called to the camp will, under the watchful eyes of a Pegasus team which includes former Indian Army and Air Force officers, undergo innovative exercises aimed at team-building.

The nearly nine-year-old Pegasus Centre for Excellence was started by a former Indian Parachute regiment officer Capt S Ravi.
8220;The idea is to get the players to build mental strength to play for each other even in the face of extreme physical adversity,8221; an official said.
Called the Outward Bound Learning method, the training session is expected to put the players through special obstacle courses, water-based activities and rock climbing.
Team India8217;s physical trainer Gregory King said: 8220;In the past too, we tried out a few new things which produced positive results.8221; The last time the Indian team were in Bangalore for a conditioning camp, they experimented with Edward De Bono8217;s Six Thinking Hats method.
