NEW DELHI, November 29: Delhi Public School Noida dethroned hodlders Delhi Public School NTPC Vidyut Nagar, Ghaziabad in the senior boys section of the 2nd Central Board of Secondary Education Cluster 3 table tennis championship, which concluded at the Ryan International School Noida, near here today.

DPS Noida downed their courterpart from NTPC 3-1. Rupin of the Noida team got the better of Parijat of DPS, Ghaziabad, 21-13, 21-14 while teammate Kanishka lost in the ding-dong battle to Lovleen 12-21, 12-21. However, Mayur put the Noida outfit in the lead ahead when he defeated Vinay 21-12, 21-18 while in the fourth match, Pupin downed Lovleen 21-19, 21-14 to claim the title.

In the girls final, Dayawati Modi Public School edged out hosts Ryan International School 3-0 to retain the crown. In the junior boys section, KCM Moradabad defeated DAV Centenary Ghaziabad 3-1 while in the girls section in the same group, SS Children Academy outplayed SPSN Kanpur 3-1.

Yesterday, in a battle of nerves, the Ghaziabad school boys defeated SPS, Kanpur, 3-2 while the Noida team downed Ryan International 3-1. For the Dayawati school girls it was an easy outing against Green Field Public School Ghaziabad who went down 0-3.
