Double crowns for Nagaraj, Settu

R Nagaraj of Mysore and S Settu of Chennai won double crowns at the 2nd GVK-AISTA Senior National Ranking Tennis Tournament at the Calcutta South Club.

R Nagaraj of Mysore and S Settu of Chennai won double crowns at the 2nd GVK-AISTA Senior National Ranking Tennis Tournament at the Calcutta South Club. Fourth seed Nagaraj won the Senior Singles 45 years finals defeating second seed Yogesh Shah from Ahmedabad 6-2, 6-0. Partnering RV Rama Raju from Hyderabad, Nagaraj beat the top seed Andhra pair of V Srinivas Reddy and K Meher Prakash 6-2, 6-1 to lift the doubles trophy.

In the Senior Singles 55 years fifth seed Settu too the title beating top seed V Rama Mohan Rao of Hyderabad in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Settu then paired up with A Rambabu from Hyderbad to take the doubles crown beating TAPN Rao of Andhra and K Radha Krishnamurthy of Vijaywada 6-4, 6-2.

The Senior Singles 65 years was won by fourth seed VR Kulkarni of Karnataka at the expense of sixth seed Kesava Perumal 6-1, 6-1.

Senior Doubles 65 years crown went to the top seed pair of CB Raju from Hyderabad and Akhtar Ali of Kolkata. They defeated the fourth seeded pair of S Muthu Kumaraswamy and Kesava Perumal 6-2, 6-3.

Final results:

Senior Singles 45 Finals : R. Nagaraj Kar4 beat Yogesh Shah 2Guj 6-2,6-0.

Senior Singles 55 Finals : S. Settu 5TN beat Dr. V. Rama Mohan Rao 1AP 3-6,6-3,6-2.

Senior Singles 65 Finals : V.R. Kulkarni 4Kar beat Kesava Perumal 6TN 6-1,6-1.

Senior Doubles 45 Finals : R.V. Rama Raju AP 038; R. Nagaraj Kar2 beat V. Srinivas Reddy AP 038; K. Meher Prakash AP1 6-2,6-1.

Senior Doubles 55 Finals : A. Rambabu AP 038; S. Settu TN1 beat T.A.P.N. Rao AP 038; K. Radha Krishnamurthy AP2 6-4,6-2.

Senior Doubles 65 Finals : C.B. Raju AP 038; Akhtar Ali WB1 beat S. Muthu Kumaraswamy TN 038; Kesava Perumal TN4 6-2,6-3.
