Abhishek Kulkarni of Mandpeshwar Civic Federation swam the 24 km distance between Revas to Gateway Of India in 5 hours and 20 minutes on January 20, 1998. The 15-year-old Abhishek, is a ninth standard student of Suvidha Eksar Borivali High School and trains under Atul Shelar. He was sponsored by Capt J Appoo of Herold Maritime Services Pvt.

Five-year-old Devanshi Katira was awarded her Black Belt inKarate at the Priyadarshini Sports Complex, Mulund W recently. According to reports received here, she has won six gold medals and four silver medals at State and National meets and at five years and 10 months is the youngest Black belt holder in India.

Easy for seeds:

The top seeds had an easy time in advancing to the quarter-finals of the Priyadarshini Park Junior Tennis tournament here today.
