Detonators found on local train

October 24: The police recovered 11 suspected detonators from a CST-bound Kasara local at Asangaon today at around 1.45 pm.

According to the railway police, an anonymous caller informed the Khardi station master about an explosive on the local, which left Kasara at 1 pm.

Since it had already left Khardi and crossed Algaon station, the station master alerted the Asangaon railway officials. A search led to the discovery of a packet in the luggage compartment, which was reportedly emanating smoke. A bomb squad detected 11 cell-shaped objects which had a cement-like substance filled in them with wires coming out, which appeared to be detonators, said officials.
