Multi-crore complex
Industry Minister Harsharan Singh Balli said the Delhi Government will spend Rs 12 crore on a multi-crore office complex at the Patparganj Industrial Area in trans-Yamuna. The Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation will construct this Udyog Sadan. Balli also said that Union Industry minister Sikander Bakht will lay the foundation stone of the sadan on June 14, while Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma will preside over the function. Udyog Sadan will house the offices of the Industries Commissioner, Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation, Delhi Khadi Village and Industries Board and Delhi Finance Corporation, said Balli.

Multimedia project
A committee headed by Delhi Industries Commissioner J.P. Singh has been constituted to prepare a feasibility report for the proposed Software Multimedia Complex in the Capital, by June 30. Industry Minister H.S. Balli also said that another committee has been set up under the chairmanship of Lt-Governor Vijay Kapoor to monitor the project. The government has decided to set up this complex “with a view to promote non-polluting industries like software and information technology in and around Delhi and to take advantage of the availability of trained manpower.”

Office bearers
Munshi Ram Gupta has been elected president of the Maharaja Agarsain Hospital Charitable Trust. The other office bearers include two general secretaries — Tek Chand Gupta and Shushil Singhal, three secretaries — Megh Raj Goel, Dr Vipin Gupta and Anil Mittal, and cashier Ashok Kumar Gupta.

I-D cards campaign
The fifth phase of the photo-identity card campaign of the Election Office will run in the eight Assembly segments of Paharganj, Rajender Nagar, Jangpura, Hastasal, Narela, Palam, Badarpur and Ram Nagar till June 19. Voters will be photographed between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and the identity cards will be distributed on the same day after 2 p.m.

Karim’s founder dead
The founder of the Karim’s Chain of Hotels, Nooruddin, passed away on Monday after a prolonged illness. According to the managing director of Karim Hotel, Aleemuddin, the hotel’s branches at Jama Masjid, Nizamuddin and Shakarpur will remain closed on Tuesday.

111 power theft cases
Approximately 111 cases of theft and metre tampering were booked by Delhi Vidyut Board authorities. The DVB conducted raids at Ghevra village, Kanjhawla, Badli village, Jangpura extension, Anand Prabhat, Okhla Industrial Estate, Okhla Industrial Area, Bhogal, Wazirpur Industrial Area, Krishna Nagar, Jwala Nagar and west Vinod Nagar.
