
NEW DELHI, February 19: The Delhi and District Cricket Association DDCA sports secretary Sunil Dev today demanded that the Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI should quot;do justice according to the laws of the gamequot; and award the match and full points to Delhi in its quot;abandonedquot; Ranji Trophy Group B Super League match at Chennai.He defended the decision of the Delhi team management not to resume the game on the final day against Tamil Nadu and quoted the rules to say that quot;the visiting team shall be given outright win and given eight points if the pitch was found tampered.quot;
And the DDCA president KK Mehra, who only 24 hours earlier had condemned the act of the skipper in quot;refusing to playquot; expressed his solidarity with the team. quot;We did not have the full facts yesterday,quot; he said at the press meet this evening.Delhi skipper Ajay Sharma, manager Sunil Khanna and coach Maninder Singh Jaggi who were present at the Kotla this evening along with some senior officials of the association, narrated theincidents at Chennai to stress the point that the quot;pitch was tampered, which fact was admitted by Match Referee Panjabi.quot;
Ajay Sharma also clarified that he had never refused to play, as some newspapers reported.
