Mumbai, July 26: Mumbai Customs, who were left depleted due to the one-match suspensions to two of their star strikers earlier, made a fine return into the Bombay Hockey Association Super League with a 2-1 win over Tata Sports Club at the Mahindra Stadium on Wednesday.

The winners led 1-1 at half time.

Mumbai Customs were put into the lead by Amjad Khan in the 19th minute. Tata Sports, however, restored parity through Adolf Colaco, ten minutes later.The second session was well fought with both sides pressing hard . The match-winner finally came for the Customs from Ashish Gonsalves who sounded the boards in the 62nd minute of play.

In the other match of the day, Maharashtra State Police held Companeroes Sports Club to a 3-3 draw after the former led 2-1 at lemon time.

For Companeroes, Dudley Drego, Marcellous Gomes and Lynden Zuzarte scored the goals while Azamt Sheikh, Milind Lonare and Anklesh Yasur did so for Maharashtra State Police.
