The film Aji Ajoba deals with a common problem faced by the children of nuclear families

Love has no boundaries,8221; says the tagline of the directorial debut of Milind Dastane titled Aji Ajoba. It fits well to the plot that two small siblings on their pursuit of finding grandparental love decide to adopt an old couple from an old age home. Children8217;s Film Society, India, has produced the film.

The story is about two siblings who along with their friends go against their parents to bring home an old couple. The quest of getting grandparents begins when the children, Akshay and Tanvi played by Shreyas Paranjape and Prutha Mahajan respectively along with their friends meet an old couple Satish Pulekar and Smita Oak at an old age home. The couple also longs for grandchildren and are extremely happy to find that these children have a soft corner for them. But the journey halts when the children learn that they cannot take the couple home. They decide to adopt the couple, and work hard to collect required money. At last the pursuit ends with the parents understanding the needs of the children and bringing home Aji and Ajoba.

Says Milind Dastane, 8220;My main focus was on children needing grandparents8221; adding 8220;What people say that children are spoilt because they watch television is wrong. They need someone to listen to them, play with them and answer their queries.8221;

The film does not comment on the life of old people in old age homes but focuses on the fact that the Indian concept of big joint families is very much needed in today8217;s lifestyle.
