Two killed in mishap
Two persons were killed in separate road mishap that took place within the limits of the Kamrej and Valod police stations of the district in the past 24 hours. One Hudiya Chhidiyabhai, a resident of Kamrej, died after his vehicle GJ 1 G 2288 rammed into a railing on the Surat Kamrej Road. In another case registered at the Valod police station, Anshaar Pathan, the driver of a jeep UP 24 3701 died on the spot when his vehicle rolled off the road and fell into a ditch. The police have registered cases under IPC 304 a along with sections of the MVA in the respective police stations.

Case registered
According to a complaint lodged by one Bhimsingh Rajput, in the Palsana police station, one Rajesh Oza tried to kill him by stabbing him six times on Monday night. The complainant, a resident of Jolwa in Palsana, added that, he had loaned Rs 3,600 to the accused, also from the same village, six months ago. But on Monday night, when he went to ask for the money, Oza stabbed him and escaped. The police have taken Oza into custody.

Arrested
One Shaikh Sharif Aziz, 23, a resident of Un on the outskirts of the city, was arrested by the Salabatpura police for his involvement in a murder case at Salabatpura in January. Aziz was arrested late on Monday night and will be produced before a magistrate, where a remand will be sought, the police said.

Body recovered
The Varachha police on Tuesday afternoon recovered the body of one Bandu Mahadev 62, a resident of Maninagar Society at A K Road, from the Tapi river. The police suspect the person might have died by drowning. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered and the body has been sent to the New Civil hospital for an autopsy, the Varachha police said.
