Illegal ganja cultivation
One Sukkariya Potla Gamit alias Dhansukh of Lakhali village in Vyara taluka was discovered cultivating ganja in his field. Gamit8217;s house and farm were raided by a team of Vyara police led by PSI S S Bareth and 35 kilogrammes of ganja plants valued at Rs 9000 were seized. The raid was conducted at around 5 pm on Sunday afternoon and Dhansukh has been held under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances NDPS Act, according to a district rural control room release.

Accident death
23-year-old Sunil Kanoje, a resident of Harinagar in Udhna died in the New Civil hospital, where he had been admitted on Sunday night after suffering internal injuries due to a fall. The Udhna police said Kanoje was riding his cycle on the road opposite Jivan Jyot Talkies when it slipped. He is said to have received internal injuries in the abdomen. Kanoje was rushed to the New Civil hospital, where he died on Monday morning. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure CrPC.

Attempt to killRekha Matku, wife of Sahebrao Matku residing at Ranjitnagar in Limbayat area, lodged a police complaint on Sunday night against one Santosh Girdhar Patil a resident of the same area, saying that he had tried to force her into marrying him. According to the complainant when she refused him, she was dragged into the house of one Aadam and forced to agree to marry Patil. When she refused again, Patil poured kerosene on her and attempted to immolate her, but she escaped. Patil is since absconding and the Limbayat police have registered a case under various sections of the IPC against him.
