Parasakthi Box Office Collection Day 1 Worldwide Update: Sivakarthikeyan film has minted over Rs 27 crore worldwide.Parasakthi Box Office Collection Day 1 Update: Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Parasakthi opened in theatres on Saturday to mixed reviews. According to Sacnilk, the film minted Rs 11.5 crore on Day 1.
The film suffered from uncertainty around its release, as it received CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) clearance only on Friday, with the board granting it a U/A certificate at the last minute.
Parasakthi, however, faced stiff competition from Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, which released in theatres on Friday. Despite receiving mixed reviews, The Raja Saab minted Rs 63.3 crore on its opening day. The film had already earned around Rs 10 crore during preview shows, which added to its opening day collections. In the Hindi market, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continues its strong dominance at the box office as even in its sixth week, the film managed to earn over Rs 3 crore on Friday.
Earlier, Vijay’s swansong Jana Nayagan was also scheduled to release on January 9. However, the film was postponed due to “unavoidable circumstances,” specifically issues related to obtaining the necessary certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India. This delay worked in Parasakthi’s favour. The film’s reported budget is around Rs 142 crore.
Parasakthi is directed by Sudha Kongara, who last helmed Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira, which turned out to be a failure at the box office. The film is produced by Dawn Pictures. Parasakthi also marks Sreeleela’s Tamil debut, while Ravi Mohan plays the role of the antagonist in the film. It also stars Atharvaa, along with Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph, Papri Ghosh, and Rana Daggubati.

X user @iammoviebuff007 posted, "#parasakthi - The version i watched didn't have a SK25 title card.. Also Censor Played a Basket Ball by toning down the core content.. • Many dialogues were abruptly muted in several important scenes, Which affected the flow of that scene.. Hoping to watch the Uncut Version on OTT.. • The "சித்தரிக்கப்பட்டவை" text felt unnecessary.. What's the issue with "Thee Paravattum" words.. It was modified as "Neethi Paravattum.."

X user @iyersview shared, "A missed opportunity. An emotional topic for Tamils. In the movie it appeared like honest and loyal police officer (Jayam Ravi) was the villain,Instead of portraying the central Government (congress) & it’s Hindi imposition policy as the villain. #parasakthi #parasakthidisaster."

Journalist @sudhirsrinivasn posted on X, "Many thoughts on #parasakthi: _ At one point in Parasakthi, someone observes that language isn’t merely a tool to express thought. It is thought itself. Languages aren’t clothes you can change for convenience and still remain the same person underneath. Each language alters how you see, feel, and exist. To suffocate one language or impose another, then, isn’t a superficial change; it is a demand for inner transformation. It is a government order for a change in your identity, in your inner essence. During the anti-Hindi agitations of the 1960s, people protested, screamed, died. And that's understandable because what was at stake wasn’t vocabulary, but existence itself. Perhaps that’s why Sudha Kongara’s Parasakthi uses a primal element, fire, as a central motif. Everything burns here: trains, buildings, people. The call to resistance, “Thee paravattum”, captures how protest spreads, how anger and belief connect from person to person, and how it can become uncontrollable once ignited. I love languages. I speak Tamil, Telugu, and English. So when I learned that Parasakthi was about the importance of preserving languages, I'll be lying if I said I wasn't already on its side. However, I wanted the film not just to assert its politics, but to move me. I wanted it to offer heroism, grief, catharsis, not merely as ideas, but as affecting experiences. I wanted Parasakthi to be more of a film than a slogan. I’m not sure it is."
Sidevi Seedhar shared via X, "#parasakthi :4/5 It is just not a movie but an emotion. It’s powerful, engaging and thought- provoking. The struggle & pain of student community against the imposition of Hindi ding 60’s is well-depicted by dir @Sudha_Kongara. @Siva_Kartikeyan is perfect and his character is something he should be very, very proud of! @iam_RaviMohan s a revelation with equal screen space as the hero. @Atharvaamurali is energetic @sreeleela14 looksgorgeous, gets a cute meaty role. One of the best work from @gvprakash, be it songs or bgm 🙌 On the whole, an authentic and emotional film which will compel us to think and debate."
A fan @8t4_sriganesh shared via X, "First 15 mns and last 15 mns towards intermission was bang on . Rest really was flat and definitely boring. User @SuryaBhaiStan said via X, "#parasakthi is a good watch. Those who know about the Tamil language movement will easily connect with this movie. The director shows her brilliance in bringing out emotions from every character. @iam_RaviMohan as an antagonist steals the show with his brilliant performance. There are some scenes where the audience may feel infuriated and even hate Jayam Ravi. The other lead cast members also did well. Except for the action scenes, every department did its best. The story could have been written much better, in my opinion. A few scenes in the second half drag the plot, but the director manages to end the film well with a strong climax with some notable cameos. Only complaint is the timing of the movie release. Movie favours Ruling party since they are heavily involved in that particular movement. Overall good watch."
Parasakthi makers Dawn Pictures shared the poster of Malayalam actor-filmmaker Basil Joseph with the caption, "When he came on screen, the theatre went crazy. Thank you @basiljoseph25 for your special appearance in #parasakthi. Witness the story in theatres now! #parasakthipongal"

A fan @Amitpasi34 shared via X, "#parasakthi Genuine Review First half : slow started & boring, unnecessary love drama, dull scenes. Second half : too lengthy, zero emotional connect, predictable climax. Only Positives : GVP BGM , Atharva, Jayam Ravi performance Overall: Below Average - 1.7/5. Flop / Disaster."
A fan @FilmiHindustani shared via X, "Traveled 10 km as an Indian cinema lover to watch a TAMIL film #parasakthi.. only to witness OPEN HATRED against HINDI, portrayed as if it were a foreign Invader's language, not part of India. Seeing such OUTDATED, toxic narratives in an Indian film today is honestly SHAMEFUL. Language-based 'sub-nationalism' is being weaponized by small-time local politicians to stay relevant.. and cinema is sadly becoming their loudspeaker. As an Indian, I take pride in every Indian language. But this film leaves no opportunity to target Hindi and appease Tamil-centric political narratives. Cinema should unite India, not spread linguistic poison. Dear #sudhakongara (Director), cinema is art.. not a language war manual. Take a chill pill, sister. Deeply disappointed."
