After several delays, Prabhas’ The Raja Saab finally hit theatres on January 9. However, the celebrations took an unexpected turn after the actor’s fans allegedly created chaos during a screening of the film. A fire broke out at a theatre in Odisha after fans reportedly burst crackers inside the hall, causing confetti to catch fire. They also performed an aarti for the Telugu superstar.

A clip of the incident was shared by News18 Odisha and has since gone viral on social media. In the video, fans can be seen performing aarti and bursting crackers in front of the screen during their favourite star’s scenes. This reportedly caused confetti to catch fire near the screen. While some fans were seen trying to put out the fire, others continued dancing and appeared unfazed. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

In another video, Prabhas’ fans were seen carrying dummy crocodiles over their heads inside a cinema hall. The stunt appeared to be an attempt to recreate the trailer’s viral scene in which Prabhas gets into a dramatic physical fight with a crocodile.

Written and directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab has been produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment. Besides Prabhas, it also stars Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab. The horror-comedy opened strongly, earning Rs 63.3 crore net on Day 1. It is set to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office.
