End of an era: PMO likely to vacate South Block, move to new Seva Teerth complex after January 14

While the Cabinet Secretariat moved into the new Seva Teerth complex in September 2025, the National Security Council Secretariat is expected to shift there soon, ahead of the PM’s move, say government sources.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to move out of South Block, where the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has been located since Independence, into the new Seva Teerth complex for the PMO, the Cabinet Secretariat and the National Security Council Secretariat, after January 14, The Indian Express has learnt.

The Executive Enclave complex or Seva Teerth, on Dara Shikoh Road (formerly Dalhousie Road) in the heart of the Capital, has been constructed as part of the government’s redevelopment of the Central Vista area.
