
Ericsson to focus on Internet products in India
Telecom major Ericsson, to tap the opportunities thrown open by privatisation of the Internet sector in India, is reorienting itself to focus on information technology IT related equipments.
The focus of Ericsson8217;s research and development will be on products and systems used by Internet service providers ISPS, Ericsson Communications Pvt Ltd ECPL vice-president sales and marketing Anil Raj said. He said Ericsson will leverage its inherent strengths in technology to provide solutions for future applications in new telecom world, of which the Internet will be a key element.
Kinetic Fincap posts 12 jump in profits:
Kinetic Fincap Ltd, the two-wheeler finance company, has recorded a 12 per cent increase in profits to Rs 1.50 crore for the half-year period ended October 31, 1998. During the second quarter, the company recorded a gross income of Rs 11.68 crore, up 43 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
After accountingfor interest and finance charges of Rs 3.92 crore and administrative costs of Rs 2.34 crore, the company has reported a 19 per cent increase in gross profits at Rs 5.41 crore.
BAeHAL signs pact with Sextant:
BAeHAL Software Ltd has entered into a strategic alliance with Sextant Avionique to develop avionics software. A dedicated support team from Sextant will work with BAeHAL engineers, depending on programme requirements. They will work on advanced avionics software systems for both civil and military aircraft programmes. Sextant will provide software tools including configuration management, specification and validation tools.
Kodak unveils new camera:
Kodak India Ltd has launched its KE camera range that makes photography easy. In addition to the easyload feature, the Kodak KE20 offers a failure proof loading mechanism. It has also a three element, wide angle Kodak Ektanar lens for sharp focus. The cameras are available at all Kodak Express outlets and at leading photo stores,according to a release.
