Condom vending machine burgled

KHARAR, Nov 30: In probably the first-ever incident reported from this part of the region, the condom vending machine installed at the local bus stand was broken into by some suspected burglars last night and condoms, worth hundreds of rupees, besides coins lying in the machine were taken away by them. The incident came to notice when persons who had gone to fetch condoms from the machine early morning, found that the lid of the machine had been ripped off. Subsequently, it was discovered that the condoms as well as coins lying in the machine were missing. It seems that the burglars used a rod or some such device to push up the lid.

The machine was installed by the AIDS control cell of the Punjab Health Department.
